Intro

In today’s age, it is hard to make a choice when investing in a pair of gym headphones. The options are endless, and once you think you found a pair that you like, you get thrown off by the difference between review articles and what people have to say about the product on Amazon. This article will review the Beats Studio 3 wireless headphones, which have been my gym headphones for about the past two years.
Comfort
These headphones might be the most comfortable over the ear headphones I have owned. Once you find the proper adjustment for them, they sit in place and don’t move. Even in scenarios where I am laying flat, such as while benching, the Beats Studio 3’s don’t even come close to slipping off of my head, making them amazing gym headphones in that aspect. Getting them to fit comfortably while wearing hats might take a bit of experimenting, but that is usual for any pair of headphones. The only downside to the comfort level came with the addition of an ear stud to one of my ears. While it isn’t terrible, I can definitely feel the stud shifting around under the padding, and occasionally have to adjust the headphones so the back of the stud doesn’t press into my neck.
Overall Comfort: 8/10
Sound
While I am not an audiophile, the sound quality of these headphones is better than the last few pairs I have owned. It is clear even when going high in volume, which is all I was looking for when it comes to gym headphones. In addition, the noise cancellation feature is valuable when looking into a pair of gym headphones, as the constant noise of weights slamming around you, in combination with that horrible playlist most gyms play, can get old very quickly. Once I have these on (and turned up to a certain level), I’m unable to hear anything that is going on around me, which can be a blessing or a curse depending on the person.
Overall Sound: 9/10
Durability
This is the part of the review where I am not as happy about my experience as I was on the rest. The positive part first, I’ve stretched, dropped, and given these headphones a beating for an extended amount of time and they are still holding up like on day one on the outer parts of them. My negative experience comes from the inner part of the headphones, the ear padding. About a year and a half into using the Beats Studio 3’s, the outer layer of the padding started getting a small crack in it, and from here on out in a matter of only a few uses half of both ear paddings turned into a sticky mess. They started tearing more and more, revealing the adhesive below them which then started sticking to my ear and about everything it touched, including itself while they are folded in the case. While it is easy to find a replacement pair of ear padding, it is still rather obnoxious for the price tag.
Overall Durability: 6/10
Battery life
When it comes to battery life, the Beats Studio 3 headphones are carrying their weight. Charging these headphones is quick, and I tend to go about a month before taking them out of my gym bag to charge them again. And on the occasion that I do forget to charge them up until I am trying to head out the door (which is typical of me), charging them for as short as five minutes results in about three hours of playback time. Being used to headphones with a shorter battery life, it was a refreshing change when switching to these headphones.
Overall Battery life: 10/10

Overall
In my opinion, the Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones make an amazing pair of gym headphones if you are looking for a pair of over-the-ear headphones. The comfort and lack of movement during usage, the noise cancellation, and the impressive battery life make these a good choice for any gym goer if you are able to look past the eventual implosion of the ear pads. When I first purchased these headphones, I was nervous about the amount of money I would be spending on them, but two years into regular usage and I would say they are well worth their money.
Overall Score: 8/10
